Engineering design of foundation for medium to high rise structure is a creative, iterative and open-ended process, subject to many constraints. The complexity and uncertainty involved with the natural geological environment makes design of foundation for structure unique. Earthquakes are the naturally occurring events, which are mostly responsible for the property damage all around the world.

Preventing seismic events is not possible, however evaluation of seismic risks and taking effective measures in foundation design of medium & high-rise structures is very much possible, for such emergencies.

To fulfill the current day requirements, Civil Engineers need awareness and knowledge of the advancements made in Site-Specific Geotechnical Investigations for Medium & High-Rise Buildings. To meet these demands a short course on “Site-Specific Geotechnical Investigations for Medium & High-Rise Buildings” is planned at International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT-H) during 3-5 November 2016
. The short course focuses mainly on the recent advancements made in Site-Specific Analysis of Medium & High-Rise Buildings. Shri V. V Lakshminarayana was a former Joint Director for India's Central Bureau of Investigation. He is known for leading the investigations like OMC Scandal, Emaar Properties, Satyam Scandal and Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddys Disproportionate Assets case. V.V Lakshmi Narayana is currently posted as Additional Director General of Police in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He previously held the post of Joint Commissioner of Police of Thane, Maharashtra and before that as Inspector general of police Rank under Y-category security for dealing with high-profile corruption cases.

Early life
Born on 3 April 1965 and brought up in Srisailam, Andhra pradesh  family, where his father was an Irrigation officer.He did his Bachelor of Engineering at the NIT Warangal. He did his MTech from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He was an Inspector General, Maharashtra cadre from the 1990 batch of Indian Police Service .

Career
He is known for his impact speeches.
As an active member of Lead India Foundation, Hyderabad he interacted with more than 
11 lakh youth so far. Lead India Foundation was started with the blessings of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

He worked as a Superintendent of police for Nanded and then for the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad. He was posted as Deputy inspector general of police (DIG) at Hyderabad on 12 June 2006, as he was keen to work for the CBI agency. According to media sources, he was initially posted as the CBI unit head for a period of five years and then given extension for two years on his promotion as the Joint Director. He also received the Indian police medal in 2006. He successfully investigated the Satyam Scandal as a Deputy inspector general of police Rank. Shri. V.V. Lakshmi Narayana donated blood 54 times and received an award from the Govt. of Maharashtra. Sri. V.V. Lakshmi Narayana 
adopted a village in Mehbubnagar District of Telangana State and developed it very well with the active participation of the villagers and the NGOs. Sri. V.V. Lakshmi Narayana has been awarded the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Prize by the Minority Commission of Maharashtra. Sri. V.V. Lakshmi Narayana has been conferred with the Presidents Police Medal for Distinguished Services on 26th January , 2017.
