GREETINGS FROM SPORTS CELL
All P1 to E4 students – Boys and Girls are hereby informed that the Kakatiya Ground has been restored to normal use following the completion of the maintenance and related works.
Accordingly, All sports grounds and sports activities, including the facilities and activities at the SAC Building and Gym, are being resumed with enhanced timings from today, 11 August 2026
REVISED SPORTS PRACTICE TIMINGS
Morning Session 5:30 AM – 7:45 AM
Evening Session 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM
The above timings are applicable to All sports practice sessions and activities conducted under the Department of Physical education/Sports Cell, including activities at the Kakatiya Ground, Shathavahana Ground, Football Ground, Cricket Ground, Athletic Track, SAC Building and Gym, as applicable.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
All students are requested to make use of the sports facilities **only during the prescribed timings.
Students must maintain **discipline, cleanliness and proper sports etiquette** at all venues.
Sports equipment must be handled carefully and returned to the designated places after use.
Students are strictly instructed to **follow the directions of the Physical Education staff, coaches and Sports Cell personnel**.
Students must ensure that the grounds and SAC facilities are kept clean and free from litter.
Any damage to sports facilities or equipment due to negligence will be viewed seriously.
Students are advised to report any safety, maintenance or facility-related issue immediately to the Sports Cell.
All P1 to E4 Boys and Girls are encouraged to make effective use of the extended practice timings and actively participate in sports and physical activities.
Let us maintain discipline, sportsmanship and a clean sporting environment across the campus.

This is to reiterate that RGUKT-BASAR has a ‘ZERO TOLERANCE’ Policy towards Ragging and all forms of ragging are strictly prohibited on Campus.
Those who are found guilty of indulging in ragging, and/or abetting ragging, actively or passively, or being part of a conspiracy to promote ragging, will be subjected to disciplinary action, which can range from suspension from academic activities, expulsion from hostel to rustication from the Institute, among others, in accordance with the Anti-Ragging Guidelines of UGC.

Call for Applications – Core Committee Members
The Department of Physical Education (Sports Cell), RGUKT Basar, invites applications from enthusiastic, responsible, and committed students to become members of the Students Governing Body – Sports (SGB–Sports) 2026–27.
The SGB–Sports serves as the official student representative body for all sports and games-related activities on campus. It acts as a bridge between the Sports Cell and the student community, ensuring smooth planning, execution, and development of sports at RGUKT Basar.

Roles & Responsibilities
The selected SGB–Sports members shall:
• Act as the official bridge between the Sports Cell, University Administration, and Students.
• Assist in planning, organizing, and successfully conducting:
o Inter-House Competitions
o Intra-University Sports Events
o Annual Sports Meet
o Tournaments and Championships
o Fitness and Recreational Sports Activities
• Coordinate all official sports-related meetings and events.
• Assist in organizing and executing all official university celebrations and national observance days involving sports activities.
• Support the Sports Cell in AIU team selections, coaching camps, trials, and tournament management.
• Attend official meetings with University authorities and, whenever nominated, represent the Sports Cell during interactions with Government officials and external organizations.
• Coordinate volunteers and recruit sub-committees for the smooth conduct of sports events.
• Assist in maintaining sports facilities, discipline, communication, registrations, scheduling, and event logistics.
• Promote sports participation among students and encourage a healthy sporting culture across the campus.
• Undertake all other sports-related responsibilities assigned by the Sports Cell from time to time.
Eligibility & Selection Criteria
The Students Governing Body – Sports (SGB–Sports) Core Committee shall consist of 18 members as detailed below:
Engineering Students (14 Members)
• One Boy and One Girl from each Engineering Branch
• Total: 14 Members
PUC Students (4 Members)
• 2 Boys
• 2 Girls
Preference Criteria
Preference will be given to applicants in the following order:
1. E3 and E4 students, considering their experience, maturity, and availability to serve the Sports Cell throughout the academic year.
2. Students admitted under the Sports Quota.
3. Students with outstanding achievements in University, AIU, State, National, or International sports competitions.
4. Students possessing proven leadership, communication, organizational, and event management skills.
The final selection shall be based on the applicant's commitment, leadership qualities, sports involvement, communication skills, interview performance (if conducted), and overall suitability for the responsibilities of the Students Governing Body – Sports.
Applicants should:
• Be responsible, disciplined, and committed to serving the Sports Cell.
• Possess good leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Have a genuine interest in sports administration and event management.
• Be willing to dedicate time for official sports activities throughout the academic year.
Preference will be given to students admitted under the Sports Quota and those with proven participation/achievements in sports.

1. Download the SGB–Sports 2026 Application Form.
2. Fill in all required details completely.
3. Attach supporting documents (if any).
4. Submit the hard copy at the Sports Cell Office.
Last Date for Submission
16 August 2026 (Sunday) – 5:00 PM
Late applications will not be entertained.
Selection Process
• Applications will be scrutinized by the Sports Cell.
• Interviews, if required, will be conducted from 18 August 2026 onwards.
• The decision of the Sports Cell shall be final.

The Sports Cell, RGUKT Basar**, hereby informs all students that Kakatiya Ground will remain completely closed with immediate effect from today until 8:00 PM on 07-08-2026
The temporary closure is essential to facilitate the following maintenance activities:
Application of pesticides/grass treatment chemicals for the elimination of harmful insects, pests, and weeds.
Grass cutting, trimming, and overall ground maintenance** to improve the safety and playing conditions of the ground.
Post-treatment safety period to allow the pesticides to settle and become safe before the ground is reopened.
Important Safety Instructions
Entry into Kakatiya Ground is STRICTLY PROHIBITED during the entire closure period.
Students shall not walk, jog, practice, play, or assemble anywhere within the ground premises.
The pesticide application may be hazardous to health if proper precautions are not followed. Direct contact with the treated grass or soil should be avoided.
Students are advised not to remove or tamper with any barricades, caution tapes, or warning boards placed around the ground.
Any student found entering the ground during the restricted period will be held responsible for violating the safety instructions and appropriate disciplinary action may be initiated.
Ground Reopening
The ground will be reopened for regular sports and physical activities only after 8:00 PM on 07-08-2026, subject to the completion of all maintenance works and confirmation that the area is safe for use.
The Sports Cell requests all students to extend their wholehearted cooperation by strictly adhering to this notice. Your cooperation will help ensure the safety of the university community and enable timely completion of the maintenance work.
This notice shall be treated as HIGH PRIORITY and is effective immediately.
